Individual Investor/Owners
We offer full property management services, including the following:
- Comprehensive, easy-to-read monthly financial statements
- Payables and receivables
- Payroll, Revenue Canada remittances, T-4s & WCB reporting
- Screening, hiring and training of building caretakers
- Regular suite inspections
- Handling of all tenancy matters and arbitrations as may be necessary
- Completing proper tenancy paperwork in compliance with the Residential Tenancy Act
- Collecting and returning security deposits
- If necessary, obtaining insurance coverage and insurance valuation appraisals
Rental pools
Meicor began managing rental pools in multi-family/stratified buildings in 1996 and have great success with these complexes in their rental operation.
Benefits of a rental pool
In our rental pools, all participating units share revenue, vacancy losses and expenses proportionate to their size (i.e. one-bedroom, two-bedroom, etc.). We email clear, easy to read monthly financial statements to participating owners. Investors receive their share of rental revenue each month by electronic deposit. One of the main advantages of being a part of a rental pool is that investors receive revenue each month even if their unit is vacant.
Costs such as painting and suite repairs as required on tenancy turnover and general repairs during tenancies are shared amongst all participating rental pool units. We obtain a group insurance policy for each rental pool, so owners in the pool do not need to worry about obtaining insurance. We put in place a unit owner/landlord insurance policy for rental pool units at a significant discount to investors.

Managing Broker
Laurie Sims has been with Meicor since 1995. In 2012, she purchased the company and became managing broker. Laurie is licensed for both strata and rental property management; her clients appreciate her background and years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
JENNIFER THORBURN
Office Administrator
Jennifer Thorburn, our office administrator, came to us from Calgary, Alberta. She has been working for Meicor since 2015.
HILLARY TURPLE
Rental & Strata Property Manager
Hillary Turple, our property manager, was born in the valley but came to Meicor from Alberta. Licensed in rental and strata management, she has been working for Meicor since 2016.

Unlicensed Assistant
Jennifer Lukacz is the latest addition the the Meicor team, joining us in 2023. As an assistant, she helps us keep things running smoothly.
